PUPR Minister: Infrastructure Development Must Provide Added Value

Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono said that infrastructure development must provide added value to increase economic growth.

“Building infrastructure is not just about assembling concrete and steel, but infrastructure development must be able to provide added value not only to economic activities, but also to increase competitiveness and economic growth,” said Basuki when delivering a speech via video at the Indonesian Construction event in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/11/2023).

He said that all stakeholders in the construction industry and services must continue to collaborate to create innovation, construction and technology so that they can compete with products from foreign countries.

“Indonesian construction this year is a great opportunity for all of us to realize our big dreams for the Indonesian construction industry and services,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Director General of Construction Development at the Ministry of PUPR, Rachman Arief Dienaputra, said that with Construction Indonesia 2023, the community and industry players can work together and create concrete steps for a more sustainable and inclusive construction future.

As a form of support for the growth and development of the construction services sector, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Construction Development is again holding Construction Indonesia 2023.

Indonesian Construction Activities become a forum for information for stakeholders in Indonesia and are able to create business opportunities and increase the productivity of national construction services.

Rachman said that Indonesian Construction 2023 was an event held to appreciate all construction service members who had contributed to the development of national infrastructure.

This activity also serves as a forum for exchanging information between supply and demand, as a medium for collaboration between the Government and construction sector stakeholders, both domestic and international, to adapt to various challenges as well as develop digital and technological transformation and encourage investment opportunities in the construction services sector.
